Our Team

Tourisme Ploërmel is run by a small editorial team supported by commissioned writers and photo editors. Nobody here owns a single article; people own subjects, which is why a guide to train travel and a guide to a coastal region are consistent about the things they share.

The team is distributed rather than office-based, with a registered company address in Charleston, South Carolina.

Destination editors own regions rather than single articles, which is why our guides sequence days instead of listing sights. Each region editor commissions, fact-checks and maintains the guides in their area.

Practical editors look after the material that is not tied to one place: fares, rail networks, documents, money abroad, connectivity and pacing. They are the reason a destination guide can say 'book the transfer the night before' without explaining transfers from scratch every time.

Our photo editors source documentary travel photography, verify licensing and write the descriptive alternative text that accompanies every image.

The standard they work to is simple: a photograph should show the place as a traveller would find it. We do not use artificially generated imagery, and we prefer an ordinary street in real light to a staged view.

Guides are written by travel writers with direct experience of the route in question. Bylines appear on every article, and where a writer has not travelled somewhere recently the guide says so rather than implying a fresh visit.

Contributors are briefed on the same editorial standards as staff: verify against a primary source, name the trade-off, and leave out anything that does not help a reader plan.

A guide starts as a reader question rather than a keyword. An editor scopes it, a writer with direct experience is commissioned, a photo editor assembles the imagery, and the piece is fact-checked against operators and authorities before it publishes.

After publication the region editor owns it. That means periodic review, updates when a timetable or requirement changes, and corrections when a reader spots something we did not.

Every article carries the name of the person who wrote it, and the editorial desk answers for the whole library. There is no anonymous filler here, and no guide assembled from other people's summaries.
